Dementia and drug use cause paranoia. That is very common. Some of other things that can include delusions and/or hallucination can be:

Charles Bonnet syndrome

Dementia with Lewy bodies

Fever

Affective disorders

Sleep disorders

Parkinson's disease

PTSD

Grief (yes, sadly)

Narcolepsy

Migraines

Brain Tumors

Mental disorder

Delirium tremens
